My grandson Drew and I went to Tanzania on a safari for travel agents from March 18-24, 2025, and we both came away so awed by the immense beauty of Africa. I told Drew I would return with a group of adventurers and experience that beautiful, exciting country again.

So come join me on my return to Tanzania in 2027!

Check out just a few of the photos Drew and I took while we were there and maybe they can answer some questions you have about doing something like this.

How close up do we get to the animals?

Check out these elephants blocking the road from the vehicle in front of us, or the zebras crossing the road right in front of our vehicle (below)! No passing allowed!

We will be there during calving season, so don’t be surprised to see a sight like this elephant walking with her baby underneath her body!

Fancy cameras are great but all these shots were taken by my trusty Samsung phone camera!

If we are lucky again, we might catch a sight like this one, with the elephant sharing the pool with the hippos (which our guide said he has never seen before!); that elephant even splashed water with his trunk onto the nearby hippos!
